Help and answers for Quran (القرآن الكريم)
Frequently Asked Questions About Quran (القرآن الكريم)
How many reciters are there, and which riwayat and styles?
More than 200 reciters. They cover multiple riwayat (such as Hafs and Warsh) and recitation styles — Murattal (measured), Mujawwad (melodic), and Mu'allim (teaching). The same Qari can appear more than once when he has recorded the Quran in more than one riwaya or style; each version is listed separately so you can pick exactly the recitation you want.
How do I download a surah for offline listening?
Open a reciter, find the surah you want, and tap its download icon. The surah is saved into the App's private storage on your device. Once downloaded, it plays instantly with no internet connection. You can download as many surahs as your free quota allows, and unlock more at any time (see below).
Why can I only download a certain number of surahs?
To keep the App free, downloads start with a generous free quota. When you reach it, you can unlock more downloads at any time by watching a short, optional rewarded ad. This is always your choice — streaming any surah online remains unlimited and free.
Does the Quran keep playing when I lock my phone or switch apps?
Yes. Quran supports full background playback. The recitation continues when you lock your iPhone or open another app, and the standard media controls appear on your Lock Screen and in Control Center, showing the surah and reciter. You can also control playback from your headphones or in CarPlay.
How does the sleep timer work?
Open the player and tap the sleep-timer control. You can either set a number of minutes after which the audio fades to a stop, or choose "at end of surah" so the current recitation finishes and then pauses on its own. It's the calm way to fall asleep to the Quran without your phone playing all night.
Can I change the playback speed?
Yes. In the player you can set the speed from 0.75× to 2×. Slow it down to follow along with the recitation, or speed it up to review — the pitch is preserved, so the Qari's voice always sounds natural.
Does it remember where I stopped?
Yes. When you reopen the App, it offers to resume from the exact reciter, surah, and second where you left off. When a surah finishes, playback flows straight into the next one in order.
Why do some reciters not have all 114 surahs?
Many reciters only ever recorded part of the Quran. Rather than show you broken links, the App lists exactly the surahs each reciter actually published — so every track you tap plays a real recording. A reciter's surah count reflects what is genuinely available for that reciter.
How do I change the language of surah names?
Open Settings and choose your display language. Surah names and their meanings, plus the app interface, are available in Arabic, English, French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish. The change is instant — no restart — and Arabic switches the whole app to a right-to-left layout.
What are the curated collections?
Quick-access groups of surahs for common moments: Friday (Al-Kahf), before sleep (As-Sajda and Al-Mulk), Ruqyah, Al-Mu'awwidhat (the last three surahs), Yaseen & Al-Waqia, and the whole of Juz Amma. Pick a collection and the player builds its order from just those surahs.
Can I filter and sort the reciters and surahs?
Yes. Filter the reciter list by riwaya, recitation style, or first letter, and sort surahs by mushaf order, reverse order, shortest, longest, or alphabetically. Active filters appear as chips you can remove with one tap.
Do I need an internet connection?
Only for streaming and downloading. To stream a surah you haven't downloaded, or to download one for later, the App fetches the audio over the internet. Anything you've already downloaded plays fully offline. A connection is also used for the optional ads and a small Firebase Remote Config fetch.
Where does the audio come from?
The recitations are sourced from mp3quran.net, a long-running, freely available Quran-audio library. The App streams or downloads the MP3 files directly from there. We present the recordings faithfully and don't alter the recitation. See our Privacy Policy for how that connection works.
Does the app show ads or track me?
The App is free and supported by ads from Google AdMob (banner, interstitial, app-open, and optional rewarded ads). Before any tracking happens, iOS shows the standard App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt, and in regions that require it a consent form appears first. You can decline — the App keeps working and the ads simply become non-personalized. We never use your listening history, favorites, or downloads for advertising. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Streaming sounds choppy or a download failed. What should I do?
This is almost always a connection issue, since the audio is fetched from a third-party library. Try these steps:
- Check that you have a stable Wi-Fi or cellular connection.
- For important listening, download the surah first over Wi-Fi, then play it offline.
- If a download stops, tap it again to retry — partial downloads resume cleanly.
- Move out of areas with weak signal while streaming.
The app crashes or has performance issues. What should I do?
If you're experiencing issues, try these steps:
- Force-quit and restart the Quran app.
- Make sure your device is running the latest version of iOS.
- Check the App Store for any available updates.
- Restart your iPhone or iPad.
- As a last resort, delete and reinstall the app — note that this removes your downloads and favorites, which you can download again afterward.
If the issue persists, please email us at contact@maincreator.com with your device model and iOS version.
