How do I start my first fast?
Open the app on the Today tab. Pick one of the built-in IF protocols (16:8, 18:6, 20:4, OMAD) or set a custom duration, then tap Start. The timer begins immediately, and a Live Activity appears on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island so you can keep an eye on it without opening the app.
What is the difference between 16:8, 18:6, 20:4 and OMAD?
These are intermittent fasting protocols defined by how many hours you fast versus how many hours you eat each day:
- 16:8 — 16 hours fasting, 8 hours eating window. The most common entry-level IF protocol.
- 18:6 — 18 hours fasting, 6 hours eating window. A tighter window for more experienced fasters.
- 20:4 — 20 hours fasting, 4 hours eating window. Also known as the Warrior Diet.
- OMAD — One Meal A Day. Roughly 23 hours of fasting with a single eating window of about an hour.
You can switch protocols any time, and a custom duration is available if none of the presets fits.
How does the planned fast (scheduled start) work?
On the Today tab, tap Plan Fast, pick the start time, and confirm. You will receive a gentle local reminder one hour before the fast begins, and another alert when the fasting window closes. The timer transitions into the active state automatically at the start time — you don't need to open the app.
Can I log a fast I forgot to start?
Yes. Open the Calendar tab, tap the past day, then enter the start and end times for the fast you completed. Your streaks and stats update right away, so your history stays honest.
How do I log my weight?
Open the Stats tab and scroll to the Weight section. Tap the add button, enter your weight, and save. You can also delete or edit entries from the weight list, and the chart updates as your data grows.
Is my fasting and weight data private?
Absolutely. الصيام المتقطع (Siyam Tracker) stores everything — fasts, weight entries, protocols, preferences — locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. There is no cloud sync, no account, no sign-in. Your data is never sent to any server and is never shared with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
What language is the app in?
The app is built in Arabic and uses RTL layout throughout. Month names appear as ماي، غشت، شتنبر، أكتوبر، نونبر، دجنبر. There is no language picker — the app is intentionally focused on a single, polished Arabic experience.
Does the app show ads or track me?
The app is supported by occasional non-intrusive ads served by Google AdMob. Before any tracking happens, iOS shows you the standard App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt — you can decline tracking and the app will continue to work with non-personalized ads only. Do I need an internet connection?
No. الصيام المتقطع (Siyam Tracker) is fully offline. Timers, calendar, stats, weight log, and reminders all work without a signal. An internet connection is only used for displaying optional advertising.
The Live Activity disappeared from my Lock Screen. What happened?
iOS may automatically dismiss a Live Activity after several hours, or if Focus modes restrict notifications. To restore it, open the app and the active fast will re-publish its Live Activity. If the issue persists, try these steps:
- Force-quit and reopen Siyam Tracker.
- Check Settings > Face ID & Passcode and confirm Live Activities are allowed on the Lock Screen.
- Make sure your device is running iOS 17.6 or later.
- Restart your iPhone or iPad.
The app crashes or has performance issues. What should I do?
If you're experiencing issues, try these steps:
- Force-quit and restart the Siyam Tracker app.
- Make sure your device is running the latest version of iOS.
- Check the App Store for any available updates.
- Restart your iPhone or iPad.
- As a last resort, delete and reinstall the app — note that this will remove your local fasting history and weight log.

Getting Started with الصيام المتقطع (Siyam Tracker)
Step 1: Download and Open
Download Siyam Tracker from the App Store. Open the app — no sign-up required, no email, nothing. You are ready immediately.
Step 2: Pick Your Protocol
On the Today tab, select an IF protocol that matches your goal — 16:8 is the most common starting point. You can switch any time without losing your streak.
Step 3: Start or Plan a Fast

If you'd like to see how your fasting connects to your body weight over time, open the Stats tab and log entries as often as you like. The chart will reveal the trend.
Step 5: Review the Calendar & Stats
Every few days, glance at the Calendar to see your streak, and the Stats tab to see your monthly progress, comparisons, and 12-month overview. This is where habit becomes visible.
